New on Blu-Ray & DVD: The Sound of Music LIVE
In my opinion, this is one story we all should share with our children. My son has watched the original Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Sound of Music movie and now the LIVE film is available for home viewing.
This new production stars Kara Tointon as Maria (of Mr. Selfridge and EastEnders) and Julian Ovenden as the kids widower Father (of Downton Abbey). The vocals in this performance are spectacular and they pull such scenic and action-packed scenes together beautifully on stage. The energy is fantastic!
There is even a new son, not performed in the original movie called, “How Can Love Survive”, and if you have ever seen The Sound of Music on stage you will recognize as it is a stage song from this performance.
