Several years ago I started a new tradition that my youngest wishes will always continue. We have always lived in large neighborhoods and the amount of candy that would come home is ridiculous. So, one year I was at a store getting candy for us to pass out and I saw that this store was having a clearance sale on toys. A NERF my so had wanted was marked down and that’s when I thought about the idea of having a Halloween Fairy.
I bought the toy and kept it hidden. On Halloween night I told my son that I had heard there is a Halloween Fairy and if you leave the candy you collected by the front door she will take it and leave a gift in exchange. My son was totally for it and I told him to pick 5 pieces of candy to keep and to put the bag with the rest at the door before bed. In the morning he was so excited to see his toy waiting and I had the candy I took to a local dentist office where they were sending to troops so it was a fun way to get the candy out of the home and have it benefit others.
